On my first post of the new year, Looking Back and Moving Forward, I wrote that I wasn't going to do any "New Year Resolutions" this go round. I've had success in the past with them, don't get me wrong, but I've also had a lot of times where I've lasted about a month on the resolution and then it was forgotten.
It was suggested in a group I'm a member of on a social media website (thanks Jamie!) the idea of coming up with a word(s) to focus on for the new year. Thus, I've decided to do just that! Coming up with said word was not an easy task, nor was it taken lightly.
I decided to use the word, CREATE, for 2013. Why CREATE? Well being a person who likes arts and crafts and making things, I thought the word was quite fitting, but that's not the whole reason I chose this word.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, CREATE means: to bring into existence. I chose this word because to me it's a word of productivity and ownership. Being able to CREATE isn't just about arts and crafts stuff. Yes, that's part of what I want to do in 2013. I mean, I have pinned hundreds of DIY crafts in Pinterest! CREATE to me is so much more. It's about creating opportunities. I decided to create a little word cloud on Tagxedo symbolizing what the word means to me. Love this website!
I'm totally going to print this and frame it for my desk so that I can see it daily to remind myself of the word I've chosen for 2013!
Do you prefer to do resolutions or a word(s) for New Years? Or do you not believe in resolutions at all? That's totally fine too!!
